Lucia Management Announces a Partnership with Space Age Energy Solution to Develop 23MW Chipalo Solar PV Plant in Northern Province, Zambia

Dubai, UAE / Lusaka, Zambia — 4th May 2026 — Lucia Management FZCO ("LM"), is announcing a strategic partnership with Space Age Energy Solution Limited ("Space Age"), a Zambian energy developer, to co-develop Chipalo Solar, a 23MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic plant in the Luwingu District of Northern Province, Zambia.
Representing an estimated investment of over US$20 million, the project will be located on approximately 90 hectares in Saili Village under Chief Chipalo's Chiefdom. The site benefits from strong solar irradiance and proximity to the existing Luwingu Substation, enabling efficient connection to Zambia's national grid.
The partnership combines LM’s technical and financial expertise with Space Age's local knowledge and stakeholder relationships, positioning the project to deliver clean, reliable power to rural and developing communities in Northern Zambia.
The Chipalo Solar project directly addresses Zambia's ongoing electricity supply challenges, driven largely by reduced hydropower output caused by prolonged drought. By diversifying the country's generation mix with climate-resilient solar power, the project supports national energy security and aligns with Zambia's renewable energy and climate commitments.
The project is currently nearing completion of its feasibility study. Construction is expected to commence in Q3 2026, with commissioning targeted for Q2 2027.
